Orthorhinus leseleuci Saunders & Jekel, 1855: 298 . DESCRIPTION. — The distinguishing characters are given in the key to species. The aedeagal apex has the lateral sinus more pronounced in this species (Fig. 149) than in O. cruciatus . Shapes of spermathecae seem to be unreliable, as individual variants can be rather striking.
TYPE MATERIAL. — Four syntype specimens present. Lectotype female, 14.5 x 5.5 mm, small red disk, ‘nov. spec. leseleuci Jekel [in Jekel’s writing], 760/ Orthorhinus, Nouv. Hébrides, Coll. Perroud’, MNHN. Paralectotypes: 2 females, Coll. Perroud; 1 female, Bowring Coll., BMNH .
MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Vanuatu: Malekula , Epi , Ambrim, Tanna, Aneityum. 22 specimens .
HOSTPLANTS. — Adults seen feeding on coffee plants.
ETYMOLOGY. — The species is named after A. de Léséleuc who provided the material dealt with in the 1855 paper
of Saunders & Jekel.
