Type species: N. araucariae Kuschel.

DISTRIBUTION. — New Caledonia, Australia.

HOSTPLANTS. — Araucariaceae .

ETYMOLOGY. — The Greek compound ‘notómacer’ stands for southern (nótos,) and ‘macer’, a suffix for any nemonychid.

KEY TO SPECIES OF NOTOMACER

1. Femora uniformly pale. Elytra greenish, lacking dark dots. Posteromedian emargination of metasternum showing as a fine slit, this nearly closed by thin, translucent plates. 3.3-4.0 mm. New Caledonia (montane), on Araucaria biramulata View in CoL ................................................................................. hirtulus — Femora darkened at swollen part, paler at base and apex. Elytra with yellowish or reddish brown derm and some dark dots. 2. Rostrum longer, more than 2.10 x longer than broad at apex, with three distinct carinae. Male: metasternum with large median impression on posterior half, with dentiform projection on either side of intercoxal emargination. 4.1-5.7 mm.
