DESCRIPTION. — Apart from the characters listed in the key, H. labrami is predominantly dark grey with some brown or rusty streaks here and there. Females are rather bulky compared with other species, especially with the similar H. conflictus but differing from this one by lacking a tubercle or ridge at junction on interstsriae 3 and 9 just before apex.

Length: 6.3-9.2 mm.

TYPE MATERIAL. — 1) labrami : one original specimen present, but others may be found. Lectotype female, 9.0 x 4.7 mm, ‘Balade, type, Elytrogonus labrami Montr., Coll. Fauvel’, IRSN. 2) alienus : three original specimens present. Lectotype male, 6.5 x 3.6 mm, ‘N. Caledonia, Merkel, Coll. J. Faust, Anomalodermus alienus Faust i.l.’ Typus, alienus, SMT.D. Paralectotypes: a pair, SMT.D. Identified non-type specimens with ANIC, BPBM, IRSN, MNHW, NZAC, QMBA.

MATERIAL EXAMINED. — New Caledonia. Balade , Col d’Amieu , Col des Pirogues , Forêt de Thy , Aouipinié (950-1000 m), Païta , Poindimié, Rivière Bleue, Yahoué. 40 specimens .

HOSTPLANTS. — Deplanchea speciosa ( Bignoniaceae, G. Kuschel ).

ETYMOLOGY. — Named by Montrouzier after Labram,‘éditeur des figures’.

REMARKS. — Females have two or three subbasal tubercles on elytra.
