DESCRIPTION. — Besides the features brought up in the key, this species differs from the other two in having nonproclinate elytra, small but visible, with white scales covered scutellum, interstriae 3 and 5 raised from base to apical
declivity to a low winding costa, the base of elytra, in dorsal view, rather evenly curved, not sinuous, and a sparsely pilose corbel plate.
Length: 5.8-8.0 mm.
TYPE MATERIAL. — Six syntypes present. Lectotype male, 6.0 x 3.2 mm, ‘ Kanala, Montrouzier, type, Anomalodermus Perr., Coll. Fauvel’, IRSN. 5 paratypes with IRSN, MNHN. Identified non-type specimens with BPBM, MNHW, NZAC, QMBA, SRFP.
MATERIAL EXAMINED. — New Caledonia. Aoupinié, Baie de Prony , Canala, Col d’Amieu, Col de la Pirogue, Forêt Nord (22°19’S, 166°55E), 10 km S of Koh, La Crouen , Mt. Koghi, Pic du Grand Kaori. 38 specimens GoogleMaps .
REMARKS. — Heller (1916) misinterpreted this species and, as aresult, the concept of Anomalodermus (see Hellerius ).
