Type locality. Mexico, Durango, Ventanas, Villa Corona. Distribution. United States of America (Arizona), Mexico (Colima, Durango, Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán [new record], Morelos, Nayarit, Sonora, Sinaloa), Nicaragua (Carazo, Rivas).
Remarks. Most species of Neocompsa Martins, 1965 are frequently collected at night ( Noguera et al. 2009; Audureau & Roguet 2018). In Mexico, 27 species of Neocompsa have been recorded. N. puncticollis asperula (Bates, 1885) is one of the most abundant species collected of this genus in Mexico. However, in this study only three specimens were found.
