Comments
One of the most abundant katydid species in GSP, with a particular relation with species of Symphyopappus (Asteraceae) ; all individuals were collected on these plants, feeding on flowers and leaves, both nymphs and adults. Females seem to oviposit in stalks of Symphyopappus ; individuals were also collected copulating on the inflorescence, and males were heard calling and females responding in a duet behaviour on these plants. Plants of this genus were flowering during almost the whole collecting period, especially in the summer, and it seems to be the most abundant dicotyledon present in the GSP, so the flowers appear to be an important food source for these insects.
