Female mac. Body and legs yellow with some paired brown markings on lateral third of abdominal tergites; antennal segment I white, segments II pale brown, III–V pale brown with yellowish base, VI–IX brown ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–35 ); fore wings pale with two longitudinal veins darker. Head about 0.8 times as long as basal width, projecting slightly in front of eyes, with distinctly transverse reticulations behind eyes; eyes about half as long as head length, ventrally with 6 pigmented facets; ocellar setae III arising outside ocellar triangle ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 1–12 ); antennae 9-segmented, segments III and IV with sensorium forked, II without microtrichia, VI pedicellate, suture between VI–VII slightly oblique ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 25–35 ). Pronotum about 0.7 times as long as width, with sculpture lines in anterior part but almost smooth in median ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 13–24 ); metanotum sculptured with polygonal reticulations, median setae arising far apart from each other and posteriorly, campaniform sensilla present ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 13–24 ). Fore wing developed, first vein first vein about 5 setae basally, 2 setae distally and second vein with about 5 setae irregularly spaced. Abdominal tergites with transverse sculpture lines extending beyond S2 setae; tergites II–VII without lobes or microtrichia on posterior margin, with campaniform sensilla at about one third from posterior margin ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 36–47 ); tergite VIII with posteromarginal comb complete, but the microtrichia very short usually only dentiform bases, spiracles occupying about one third as long as length of lateral margin ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 36–47 ).

Measurements (holotype female in microns). Body length 1427. Antennae length 267; antennal segments I–IX length (width): 21(32), 37(30), 44(22), 38(21), 45(21), 45(19), 12(11), 10(8), 16(5). Head length 138, basal width 173; eyes length 69. Pronotum median length 157, width 211. Fore wing length 865.

Female mic. Similar to macropterous female, but fore wing only about half as long as width of pterothorax.

Measurements (micropterous female in microns). Body length 1357. Antennae length 258; antennal segments III–IX length: 42, 33, 37, 42, 12, 10, 17. Head length 127, basal width 152. Fore wing length 98.

Male mic. Similar to micropterous female but smaller ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 1–12 ); tergite IX with two pairs of stout median thornlike setae, setae I about 1.5 times as long as II ( Fig. 55 View FIGURES 48–55 ); sternites III–VII with large C-shaped pore plates ( Fig. 51 View FIGURES 48–55 ).

Measurements (micropterous male in microns). Body length 886. Antennae length 215; antennal segments I– IX length(width): 19(26), 26(25), 32(18), 31(18), 34(19), 36(18), 11(12), 7(7), 15(5). Head length 111, basal width 135. Abdominal tergite IX thorn-like setae I & II: 15, 10; sternites III–VII pore plates width: 71, 74, 77, 73, 68.

Remarks. This species shares the following characters with A. obscurus : 9-segmented antennae, longest fore wing setae no more than 0.3 as long as median wing width and male sternites with C-shaped pore plates. However, A. obscurus has the tergite VIII posteromarginal comb with moderately long microtrichia with wide bases, and the tergites with median brown markings, whereas the new species has the comb microtrichia very short and usually reduced to a dentate base ( Fig. 47 View FIGURES 36–47 ), and the yellow tergites have paired brown areas anterolaterally ( Fig. 41 View FIGURES 36–47 ); moreover, the male pore plates are larger ( Fig. 51 View FIGURES 48–55 ) than in obscurus . The new species also shares with A. dentatus the short posteromarginal comb on abdominal tergite VIII that is usually reduced to dentiform bases, but the species are distinguished in the key above.
