Supplementary description: The unit of inflorescence of the synflorescence ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 ) panicle-like, 22.8–27 cm long; main axis glabrous, basal internode ca. 1 cm long; short paracladia 2–3, 0.4–0.8 cm long (excluding spikelets), each comprising a single spikelet; long paracladia without subtending bracts or prophylls, 16–17, 5.3–10 cm long (excluding spikelets), each bearing 3–10 spikelets, pulvinate at the base, longest long paracladium borne at the base of the main axis. Spikelets laterally compressed, 1.3–2.3 cm long; florets 5(–10), uppermost one not fully developed; rachilla segments compressed, 1–2 mm long, puberulent except on the adaxial surface; glumes 2; first (proximal) glume lanceolate, ca. 4 mm long, obscurely 4-veined, glabrous, apex acute; second glume lanceolate, 5–6 mm long, 5–9- veined, both surfaces puberulent at the apex, margin ciliate above the middle, apex acute mucronate; lemma lanceolate, ca. 7 mm long, 9-veined, abaxial surface glabrous, adaxial surface apex puberulent to glabrous, apex acute mucronate, calluses of lower florets glabrous, of upper florets basally puberulent; palea ca. 7 mm long, 2-keeled, apically pubescent and progressively less pubescent towards the glabrous base, no veins between keels, each side glabrous and obscurely 1-veined, apex obtuse to acute, keels ciliate; lodicules 3, ca. 1.6 mm long, apex comose; stamens 3, anthers ca. 3 mm long; style 1, ca. 0.9 mm long, 2-parted, style-arms ca. 0.6 mm long, stigmas 2, ca. 1.6 mm long, plumose, ovary obovoid, ca. 1 mm long. Fruit berry-like, ca. 1 cm in diameter, purple.
