Diagnosis. Female. Clava as long as scape. Mesosoma with fore wing 4× as long as wing width; marginal fringe longer than wing width.

Hosts. Nilaparvata lugens (Stål) , Sogatella furcifera (Hoev.) ( Hemiptera : Delphacidae ).

Distribution. India: Andhra Pradesh; Karnataka; Orissa; Tamil Nadu. ( Australia, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand)

Comments. The original description given by Girault (1938) is not sufficient for identification of this species. The brief diagnosis given above is based on the notes and figures given by Viggiani (1976). It must be noted that this species was recorded with a question mark by Bentur & Kalode (1985), apparently based on their material determined by the Commonwealth Institute of Entomology, London. However, as we have not studied relevant Indian material, we are not sure whether the Indian material was correctly determined.
