Tympanoterpes elegans Berg, 1882 View in CoL
Tympanoterpes elegans Berg 1882: 40 View in CoL ( Argentina, Montevideo, Uruguay, and Brazil).
Remarks. A specimen labeled “Typus” is deposited in the Museum f̧r Naturkunde, Berlin (personal observation). A single male is listed as being used in the description of the species but then Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay are listed as the distribution for the species so the specimen should be considered to be the syntype in case additional specimens exist that were used in the original description ( Berg 1882).
Distribution. The species has been reported from Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2013; Sanborn & Heath 2014; Nunes et al. 2023). Ruffinelli (1970) reported the species from Montevideo.
