Distribution: India: Khasi hills (Warren, 1912; László et al., 2007; Jiang et al., 2015). Elsewhere: Thailand ( László et al., 2007; Jiang et al., 2015).
Remark: The subspecies M. stramineata likiangensis (Sick, 1941) was described from China, Yunnan ( László et al., 2007).
