Holarktický druh vzÁcně se vyskytujÍcÍ v zachovalých vlhčÍch listnatých lesÍch s dostatečným zastoupenÍm olšÍ, vrb a osik, na kterých se jeho dravé larvy živÍ larvami mandelinek ( Coleoptera : Chrysomelidae ).
