Široce rozšÍřený holarktický druh znÁmý též z velké čÁsti Afriky. Hojný antropotolerantnÍ druh stepnÍch a xerotermnÍch stanovišť. Larvy se živÍ mšicemi na různých bylinÁch i polnÍch plodinÁch.
