Known distribution. Reported from a few American countries and from Cameroon on Lispinus spp. and Nacaeus (sub Lispinus ) tenellus (Erichson) ( Coleoptera , Staphylinidae ) ( Tavares 1985).
New record from Sierra Leone. Western Area, Sugar Loaf Mt., 6.I.1997, W. Rossi , on the elytra of Lispinus sp.
Additional material examined. ECUADOR, Pichincha, Rio Blanco , 00°12’37,6”S, 78°40’01,0”, 2470 m, 1.VIII.2006, G. Caoduro, on the abdomen of Lispinus sp. (7 mm long, backish, with reddish apex abdomen) ; Cotopaxi, Canton Sigchos, San Francisco de las Pampas , Bosque Integral Otonga , 00°25’S, 79°00’, 1975 m, 2.VI.2007, A.C. Proaño Castro & A. Barragán, on the abdomen of Nacaeus sp. (4.5 mm long, backish, with reddish pronotum) .
Remarks. The new records make it evident that the species is more common than suggested by the few and scattered previous records.
