Known distribution. This showy and unmistakable species was described on an unidentified Carabidae “allied to Platynus ” from Liberia ( Thaxter 1908).
New record from Sierra Leone. Eastern Province, Gola Rainforest National Park near Lalehun, 20–23.XI.2015, W. Rossi , on the pronotum of Liagonum sp. ( Carabidae , Platynini ).
Remarks. The record from Sierra Leone, which is the first after the description of the species, is represented by a single large thallus 675 μm long.
