Rickia circumdata Thaxter, Proceedings View in CoL of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences 52: 37, 1916.
Known distribution. This parasite was described on Episcaphula piciventris Gorham and Episcaphula sp. ( Coleoptera , Erotylidae ) from Cameroon and later reported from the same country on Kratopsis (sub Petaloscelis ) monommoides (Arrow) ( Thaxter 1926); more recently it has been reported from Japan on on Episcapha asahinai yakushimensis (Araki) ( Terada 1977) .
New record from Sierra Leone. Northern Province, between the villages of Sinikoro and Kondembaia in the Loma Mts. area, 26.XI.1983, W. Rossi , on a few specimens of Episcaphula cf. piciventris .
Remarks. Although quite variable in size and shape, the numerous thalli from Sierra Leone do not display the variability in the color reported by Thaxter, all being hyaline or almost so.
