Known distribution. Described on Circopis philippinensis Grouvelle ( Coleoptera , Nitidulidae ) from Cameroon and never reported again.
New record from Sierra Leone. Northern Province, near Bumbuna, along the road to Binkolo, 14.XII.1992, W. Rossi , on a few specimens of C. philippinensis collected on flowers of Dissotis sp. ( Melastomataceae ).
Remarks. In the original description the fungus is said to be almost hyaline, but in the thalli from Sierra Leone the perithecium turns to reddish brown with age.
