Stigmatomyces dacinus Thaxter, Proceedings of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences 53: 745, 1918.

Known distribution. Known only upon the type series, which was found on Dacus sp. ( Diptera , Tephritidae ) from Malaysia ( Thaxter 1931).

New record from Sierra Leone. Northern Province, Bumbuna, at light, 19–20.XI.1984, W. Rossi , on an unidentified Tephritidae (specimen lost in the postage).

Additional material examined. KENYA, Nairobi , private garden, phero lure trap with guava fruits, 10– 12.V.2011, M. Virgilio, on head, legs and apex abdomen of Ceratitis cosyra (Walker) ; Western Region, Kakamega District, Kakamega Forest, Yalla , in forest, 10–26.X.2004, M. Kraemer, on sternites near apex abdomen of a female specimen of Coelotrypes cf. vittatus Bezzi collected by Malaise trap .

Remarks. The present new records are the first for the African continent.
