Positive for urease, esculin hydrolysis, glucose fermentation and β -galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase. Does not utilize L-arabinose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid but utilize D-glucose and D-mannose.
