Holotype: ♀. Type locality: TOBAGO: Goldsborough , 31-III.-7.IV.1994, M. J. Someijer, Mal. tp. Neglected citrus orchard bordering primary forest ( CMNC).

D i a g n o s i s: This is the only species of Cregya known from Tobago whose characteristics include a light brown pronotum and light brown elytra.

D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 4.7 mm; width 1.8 mm. Form: As in Fig. 325 View Figs 322-325 . Color: Light brown except frons and epicranium dark brown, and pronotal disc and elytra with patches of dark brown. Head: Cranium coarsely punctate; antenna ( Fig. 51 View Figs 43-60 ) capitate, funicular antennomeres shorter towards capitulum, capitular antennomeres 8 and 9 triangular, antennomere 10 ovoid; eyes large, coarsely facetted, eye narrower than frons (EW/FW 20/28). Thorax: Pronotum ( Fig. 114 View Figs 101-117 ) slightly transverse (PW/PL 80/75), disc finely punctate, lateral tubercle well developed; elytra sculptured with 10 striae of asetiferous punctures that dissipate near elytral apex (EL/EW 210/55). Abdomen: Pygidium scutiform.

N a t u r a l H i s t o r y: The holotype was collected during March,in a Malaise trap set in a neglected citrus orchard bordering primary forest.

D i s t r i b u t i o n: This species is known from Tobago.

E t y m o l o g y: The trivial name, tobagoensis, is a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
