Aymaresmus tambonus Chamberlin, 1952: 580 , fig. 44 (original description).

Platyrhacus tampocus: Jeekel 1963: 90 View in CoL (combination); Sierwald et al. 2005: 22 (type information).

Types: ♂ holotype from Peru: Poco Tambo; W. H. Osgood and M. Anderson leg., 29-VI-1912. Deposited at the FMNH, cat. no. INS 915 ( Sierwald et al. 2005).

Distribution: known only from the type locality.

Comments: in the original description ( Chamberlin 1952) this species appears both as Aymaresmus tambonus (page 579, in the figure caption) and Aymaresmus tampocus (page 580, heading of the description). The second one must be a misprint. The correct name is Aymaresmus tambonus , as is also written in the original holotype label.
