= S. hajariana Parsa View in CoL in Kew Bull. 3(2): 217 (1948).

Type: — [ IRAN] ad Savalan in Ghilan, Aucher 5060 (isotype K!).

Specimens seen: — TURKEY. Bitlis: Pelli Mountain, ca. 3050 m, 07 July 1954, Davis 22510 & O. Polunin ( ANK, K)

Flowering time: — July.

Habitat:— Scree slopes, damp sheltered crevices. 3050‒3300 m elevation.

Distribution:— Irano-Turanian element.

Note: — Fieldwork was carried out in different seasons and on different slopes of mountains in order to collect S. amplexicaulis from one of the Turkish known locality (Tatvan: Pelli Mountain). Unfortunately, we collected some other species occurring in that area, such as S. bitlisica Lall , S. rimarum Bornm. and S. xanthoglossa Boiss. In addition, Pelli Mountain Flora by Özgökçe (2006) was also examined and no recent collection records were found. The Kara Mountain in Hakkari province, which is the other recorded Turkish locality of the species, cannot be visited due to safety issues. In future studies, new gatherings should be made from that geographical region of Turkey. We investigated the type specimen of the species and considered it for the identification key.
