Grammedessa fundicava Da Silva & Fernandes sp.n.

( Figs. 1G–H View FIGURE 1 ; 5A–C View FIGURE 5 )

Diagnosis. Length 14.1 mm. Width 8.1 mm. Body dorsally green, corium brownish-green; beneath greenish-yellow ( Fig. 1G–H View FIGURE 1 ). Tegument densely punctuated, punctures on distal margin of pronotum and scutellum black on dark spots, not forming lines like in G. nigricava sp.n. Disc of pronotum with green punctures on green spots slightly darker than the background ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ). Humeral angles projection short, dentiform.Anterior half of the costal margin of corium with punctures on black spots ( Fig. 1G View FIGURE 1 ); hypocostal ridge with black punctures. Legs with large black spots ( Fig. 1H View FIGURE 1 ). Connexival segment VII with margin and punctures black. Distal part of the genital cup deeply excavated and black ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ).

Description. Head wider than long (1.5 times). Antennae with only two segments lasting, both greenish-yellow, with small black spots. Thorax: Pronotum wider than long (3 times); cicatrices delimited by grooves, not punctuated. Beneath thoracic segments densely and irregularly punctured, punctures mostly concolorous; some punctures on propleura on green spots slightly darker than the background ( Fig. 1H View FIGURE 1 ). Evaporatorium concolorous, dull, gently grooved, not spotted; lateral area rounded with concolorous punctures ( Fig. 1H View FIGURE 1 ). Metasternal process greenishyellow; anterior bifurcation with arms strongly acuminate; not spotted ( Fig. 1H View FIGURE 1 ). Abdomen: connexivum densely punctuated; segments III–VI medially with a callus barely visible. Ventrally shagreen, sparsely punctured, punctures concolorous; one trichobothrium in line and the other lateral to spiracles.

Male ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ). Pygophore dark yellow, elongated (1.3 times); dorsal rim rounded, brown, not projected over the genital cup, except medially slightly projected over proctiger ( Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ). Posterolateral angles slightly developed and somewhat tumid. Genital cup with a secondary deeper rounded excavation close to the ventral rim (visible as a rounded light spot on Fig. 5A View FIGURE 5 ). Parameres with base cylindrical, anterior process large and triangular, posterior process short and triangular ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ). Proctiger elongated (1.3 times), somewhat excavated laterally; thin carina on most of the posterior face ( Fig. 5C View FIGURE 5 ). Ventral rim widely opened; expansions small, tumid, and rounded almost fused with posterolateral angles ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). Ventral surface convex beneath posterolateral angles; dark punctures near the ventral rim ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ).

Etymology. Named by the deep rounded excavation on the genital cup. From the Latin. Fundus (deep) and Cavus (excavation).

Comments. This species shares with G. graciligramma sp.n. and G. nigricava sp.n. the genital cup deeply excavated close to the ventral rim. But the rounded deeper excavation is unique to G. fundicava sp.n.; ventral side of abdomen shagreen and sparsely punctured is another characteristic separating these three species.
