Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the forewing having a large white marking, and in the female genitalia by the well-developed antrum narrowed and slightly curved medially. It is similar to C. convoluta sp. nov. in the forewing pattern, and the differences between them were noted in the preceding species.
Redescription. Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 7‒14 ). Wingspan 17.0‒ 18.5 mm. Head leaden grey. Labial palpus black, extended forward; second segment with dense greyish white scales on inner surface, about same length as diameter of eye; third segment short, about 1/3 length of second segment, greyish white at apex. Antenna with scape black on dorsal surface, silvery white on ventral surface; flagellum brown, darker on basal several flagellomeres. Thorax and tegula black, with purplish blue reflection. Forewing broad, leaden black, mixed with greyish brown scales; costal margin straight, slightly convex basally, black, with six greyish white dots evenly spaced from basal 1/3 to apex; apex slightly acute; termen obliquely straight, black; basal patch black, sub-triangular, outer margin strongly oblique, edged with raised white to greyish white scales; large sub-rectangular greyish white marking extending from basal 1/6 to distal 1/4, between upper margin of cell and dorsum; seven scale tufts more or less along upper and lower margins of cell: tuft before upper angle of cell black, with ocherous yellow dot on its outer side, other tufts greyish brown mottled greyish white to white, tuft at upper angle of cell edged with ochreous yellow spot on its dorsal side; dorsum with a greyish brown sub-triangular mark at basal 1/3; black band from middle of R3 curved to tornus, sinuate along both outer and inner margins; fringe black. Hindwing grey, apex acute, termen obliquely straight; fringe greyish brown.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 22 View FIGURES 21‒23 ). Papillae anales ovate. Eighth sternum incurved on anterior and posterior margins, with long sparse setae on posterior margin. Apophyses anteriores about half length of apophyses posteriores. Ostium bursae large, arrow-shaped, approximately 1/3 length of antrum; lamella postvaginalis ovate, shallowly concave at middle on its anterior margin. Antrum well-developed, heavily sclerotized, narrowed and slightly curved medially, widened toward its terminal. Ductus bursae slender, slightly broadened toward corpus bursae, membranous, about 1.7 times length of corpus bursae, with dense granules on inner surface. Corpus bursae elongate ovate.
