status

Aspicera aegyptica Hedicke, 1928 ‘ species dubia ’

Aspicera aegyptica Hedicke, 1928: 76 .

The type material of this species was collected in Egypt (Assuan) and according to the original description it was deposited in ZMH, but it was destroyed during the Second World War in 1943 (Ralph Peters, pers.comm.). Since the description of Hedicke (1928) does not give any diagnostic character, we consider A. aegyptiaca as ‘ species dubia ’.
