Orybina pseudoflaviplaga Singh &Ranjan , sp.nov ( Figs. 1–3 View FIGURES1–3 )
Type locality: Kutta , Karnataka, India.
Type material: Holotype: Male, India, Karnataka, Kutta , 05.xi.2010.
Paratype: 1 Male, same data as in the holotype.
Description. Forewing length 19mm. Adult pinkish; forewing with costal half suffused with shiny pale fuscous; a large yellow patch on costa, as present in most of Orybina species; antemedial line outwardly oblique, bifurcated near inner margin, one branch meet the latter straightly and another obsolescently extends on anal vein; postmedial line slightly oblique. Hindwing with inner area yellowish. Male genitalia with uncus large tongue like, concaved, lateral edges indented near middle; gnathos with lower arms long & robust with a strong bulge before apex of each arms, upper arms joint towards apex to form single process; tegumen& vinculum simple; saccus u shaped; valvae broadened towards apex; a small process near base of costa; aedeagus slightly s shaped; ductus ejaculatorious entering at centre.
Diagnosis. Orybina pseudoflaviplaga sp. nov. is distinct from all its congeners due to absence of medial/postmedial line of hindwing (in the hindwing of all the other Orybina species medial or postmedial line is present). Morphologically, new species is closely similar to O. flaviplaga (figs. 4 – 6) but is distinct due to following attributes: forewing with antemedial line obsolescing on anal vein; male genitalia with uncus more robust, lower arms of gnathos shorter than that of O. flaviplaga and subapically bulged, forming a shape of arrow head. Whereas in O. flaviplaga , line of anal vein is prominent, lower arms of gnathos are simple.
Etymology: Name of the species is attributed to its resemblance with O. flaviplaga .
