Description

Shell rather thick, maculate, sculptured by branched incised radial lines, length, 36 mm. Periostracum olivaceous and hirsute. Internal surface pale blue. Margins finely crenulate. Internal septum present beneath beaks.

Type locality

‘‘in O. Indico’’.

Distribution

Indo-Pacific, including Japan and eastern Hong Kong. Australia, Persian Gulf, Red Sea. Rocky intertidal to 10 m. Associated with dead corals ( Dudgeon and Morton 1982). On pilings ( Huang and Lin 1993).
