Description

Shell length, 5 mm, irregularly oval, right valve larger than left valve which it encloses progressively with age. Shell externally ornamented with commarginal lamellae postero-dorsally. Pallial sinus shallow.

Type locality

‘‘in litore prope Kisenuma Oceani pacifici lapides calcareous crystallinos penetrans’’ (from the coast of Kesen-numa, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, boring into calcitic stones) .

Distribution

Japan, Hong Kong. Intertidal, nestling in rock and coral crevices ( Morton 1978).
