Description

Shell small, thick, anterior-posteriorly elongated, trapezoidal, inflated. Approximately sixteen radial ribs ornamated with hyote spines.

Type locality

‘‘Les mers de la Nouvelle Hollande, à la baie des Chiens-Marins’’ ( Shark Bay , Western Australia) .

Distribution

Hokkaido to Kyushu, Japan, New Caledonia, northwestern Australia, East China Sea and the tropical Pacific, e.g. Hong Kong. Sandy gravel bottoms at between 5– 450 m deep and now submarine caves.
