Diagnosis. Pleurotergites with lateral keels and without metazonal warts; macrochaetae long and trichoid ( Figs 19, 20 , 30–32 , 42–44 ). Posterior gonopods with well-developed shield-like uniramous lateral processes and with uni-, bi-, or triramous medial sternal process ( Figs 29 , 40 , and 51).

Type species: Haasia troglodytes (Latzel, 1884) (syns. Craspedosoma ( Scotherpes) troglodytes Latzel, 1884 ; Acherosoma troglodytes Verhoeff, 1929 ; Acherosoma circoniense Strasser, 1935 ; A. verhoeffi Manfredi, 1935 ), by subsequent designation.

Further included species: H. carinifera ( Strasser, 1935) ; H. cornuata ( Strasser, 1940) ; H. falsa (Strasser, 1971) ; H. hadzii (Strasser, 1966) ; H. largescutata ( Strasser, 1935) ; H. likana (Strasser, 1966) ; H. pretneri ( Strasser, 1940) ; H. stenopodium (Strasser, 1966) ; H. tridentis (Verhoeff, 1931) .
