scientific name

Schistocerca obscura ( Fabricius, 1798 )
status

Schistocerca obscura ( Fabricius, 1798)

Amédégnato et al., 1995: 699.

Holotype lost neotype male; designated by Dirsh (1974) from Allen County, Kansas, U. S. A. [ NHM].

Distribution. U. S. A., especially southern and eastern states including Florida and Mexico.

Notes. There are three specimens in the Gundlach collection (at CZACC) determined with this name, but this may be a case of misidentification and that these are really Schistocerca serialis cubense (Saussure) , as suggested by Amédégnato et al. (1995).
