Ichneumon? yezoensis Matsumura, 1912 View in CoL

Ichneumon (Matsumuraius) yezoensis Matsumura, 1912: 105–106 View in CoL , plate XLVII, 5, ♀. Type lost ( Townes et al., 1965).

Original description: “Black, closely fine punctures, with short fuscous hairs. The apices of the mandibles, the palpi, the 2 nd and 3 rd abdominal segments on each anterior half yellowish brown. The middle parts of the antennae, the tegulae, the scutellum and a spot on each hind margin of the last 4 segments yellowish white. Metanotum reticulated. Wings subhyaline, somewhat infuscated, veins fuscous, stigma fulvous. Legs dark brown, the apico-frontal part of the anterior femur, the same tibiae and tarsi, a spot of each middle and posterior tibia near the base and a spot of each hind coxa above yellowish white. Length 25 mm ”.

Remarks: This species had been included in the genus Coelichneumon (“ Ichneumon ” sensu Townes) by Townes at al. (1965) (see also Yu et al. 2016). The color pattern of metasoma is very different from all known species of Coelichneumon , but would be typical for several species of Ichneumon and/or Diphyus . Therefore, this taxon is excluded from Coelichneumon here, it probably belongs to Ichneumon .
