Material examined. NHMW: Greece: Inv. No. 3111, gonopods, type, slide preparation; gonopods, slide preparation, Levkas (Frini, Enkluvi), Beier 1932; Inv. No. 8020, 533, 6ƤƤ, Levkas, leg. M. Beier, 30.5.1932.

Distribution in the Balkans. Greece: “Leucas” (today: Lefkada): Frini (type locality), Kaligoni and under Frini by the seacoast ( Strasser 1974).

World distribution. Endemic to the island of Lefkada, Greece.

Remarks. This is the only hitherto known Megaphyllum species on the island; resembling M. cepahlonicum from the neighbouring Cephalonia Island, and M. recticauda from Corfu Island, Greece.
