Megaphyllum naxium (Verhoeff, 1901)

Material examined. NMNH: Greece: 13, 2ƤƤ, Antiparos Island. litière, 22.12.1982, leg. P. Beron & St. Andreev, det. Mauriès 1983.

Distribution in the Balkans. Greece: Naxos Island (type locality), Antiparos Island ( Mauriès & Karamaouna 1984).

World distribution. Endemic to the Cyclades, Greece.

Remarks. Described on the basis of two males and four females. The second, and hitherto last known record of this species is from Antiparos Island, with one male and two females. It is the only known Megaphyllum from Antiparos, and one of the two known Megaphyllum species from Naxos; the other is M. bicolor crassiflagellum ( Mauriès & Karamaouna, 1984) .
