Nephrotoma flavescens (Linnaeus) . Near Field Station, Seoane do Courel, 28 May 2012; swept on woodland edge, nr Moreda, E.G. Hancock.
Nephrotoma guestfalica (Westhoff) . Near Field Station, Seoane do Courel, 28 May 2012, one male, E.G. Hancock.
Nephrotoma sullingtonensis Edwards. Swept on woodland edge, nr Moreda, 29 May 2012, E.G. Hancock.
Tipula (Acutipula) maxima Poda. Common at all sites, larvae identified from stream margin sediment near Seoane do Courel, 25–29 May 2012, E.G. Hancock.
Tipula (Emodotipula) obscuriventris Strobl. Larva from moss on rock in river, nr Moreda, 23 May 2012, adult female emerged 6 June 2012, D. Horsfield.
Tipula (Lunatipula) cava Riedel. Larva in detritus in pine stump, nr. Seoane do Courel, 26 May 2012, I. MacGowan.
Tipula (Lunatipula) pilicauda Pierre. Two adult females emerged from larvae in moss at base of a Castanea tree (sweet chestnut) near Moreda, 27 May 2012, E.G. Hancock and D. Horsfield. New to Galicia. This species has not been reared before. Adults were collected from marshland habitat by Oosterbroek & Eiroa (2004).
Tipula (Lunatipula) pustulata Pierre. At Field Station at Seoane do Courel, 29 May 2012; swept on woodland edge, nr Moreda, 27 May 2012, E.G. Hancock.
Tipula (Lunatipula) trigona Mannheims. Common at all valley sites but not above the altitude of 900m, E.G. Hancock. New to Galicia.
Tipula (Lunatipula) vernalis Meigen. Common at all sites, including Alto do Couto at 1300m.
Tipula (Pterelachisus) curvistylus Eiroa. Near Field Station at Seoane do Courel, 27 May 2012, I. MacGowan; swept on woodland edge, nr Moreda; Alto do Couto (1300m) and near Formigueros at 1500m, E.G. Hancock. Eiroa (1990) did not figure the aedeagus and it is illustrated here ( Figure 3 View FIGURE 3 ) and an alternative view of the gonocoxite (with dististyles) is added also ( Figure 2 View FIGURE 2 ).
