Ischnopoderona uhligi (Pace, 1999) View in CoL , comb. n.
( Fig. 37, Map 3)
Amanota uhligi Pace, 1999: 171 View in CoL .
Type material. Holotype: Ψ: Namibia, Kavango: Buffalo Camp, Kavango river, Ufervegetation gesiebt, 28.II.1992, M. Uhlig ( ZMHB). Paratype: Ψ: Namibia, E. Caprivi: Katima Mulilo, 3–8.III.1992, M. Uhlig ( ZMHB).
Redescription. Body. Length 2.7 mm, convex, parallelsided, glossy; body colour brown; pronotum reddishbrown, abdomen black with tergites III–IV red, antennae brown with antennomeres 1–2 red and 11 yellow, legs yellow.
Head circular in outline, convex; eyes relatively large, moderately protruding from lateral contours of head, length of each seen from above subequal to that of postocular region; surface of head without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and moderately sparse. Antennae long, extending to 1/2 of elytra, slightly increasing in width apically, antennomeres 2 and 3 subequal in length, antennomeres 4–10 longer than wide, decreasing in length, antennomere 11 nearly coniform.
Pronotum quadrate, convex, lateral sides sinuately narrowed to obtuse hind angles; before base with small and shallow transverse impression; surface without microsculpture; puncturation in basal 2/3 fine and dense, in anterior 1/3 similar in coarseness but much sparser; pubescence at midline directed posteriorly in apical 1/4 and anteriorly in basal 3/4.
Elytra subquadrate, at suture shorter than pronotal length at midline; surface without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and moderately dense.
Abdomen widened posteriorly, bases of tergites III–V each with deep transverse impression, first impression coarsely punctate, second and third impressions smooth, impunctate; tergal puncturation fine and moderately dense; surface without microsculpture.
Male unknown.
Female. Spermatheca as in Fig. 37.
Remarks. See remarks under I. eastopi .
Distribution. Namibia (Map 3).
Ischnopoderona lucidula Pa ś nik, sp. n. ( Figs. 38–40 View FIGURES 38 – 40 , Map 2)
Type material. Holotype: ɗ: Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls National Park, 12.XII.1993, M. Uhlig ( ZMHB). Paratypes: 2ΨΨ: same data as holotype ( ZMHB); ɗ: same data as holotype ( ISEA).
Description. Body. Length 2.6 mm, convex, parallelsided, glossy; body colour brown; tergites III–IV red, antennae brown with antennomeres 1–2 red and 11 yellow, legs yellowishbrown.
Head circular in outline, convex; eyes relatively large, moderately protruding from lateral contours of head, length of each seen from above subequal to that of postocular region; surface of head without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and sparse.
Elytra subquadrate, at suture as long as pronotal length at midline; surface without microsculpture; puncturation minute, pinpricklike and moderately dense.
Abdomen widened posteriorly, bases of tergites III–V each with deep transverse impression, first impression coarsely punctate, second and third impressions smooth, impunctate; tergal puncturation fine and sparse; surface without microsculpture.
Male. Aedeagus as in Figs. 38–39 View FIGURES 38 – 40 .
Female. Spermatheca as in Fig. 40 View FIGURES 38 – 40 .
Remarks. Ischnopoderona lucidula is very similar to I. uhligi , from which it can be distinguished by the eyes more strongly protruding from lateral contour of head, the sparse tergal puncturation (dense in I. uhligi ) and by the shape of the spermatheca.
Etymology. The name lucidula refers to the glossy elytra and abdomen.
Distribution. Zimbabwe (Map 2).
