The genus Ersachus can be characterized by the following combination of diagnostic characters (based on Pütz et al. 2004): pronotum trapezoidal, with protruding posterior angles; vestiture of the dorsal surface slightly squamiform; prosternal apophysis sulcate; mesosternum with two elevated tubercles at both sides of the insertion area of the prosternal apophysis; elytra with a recognizable pattern formed by colored patches of setae; apex of the elytra regularly rounded; humeral callus extremely prominent, forming a constriction of the elytron.
