Subtribe Cicindelina Latreille, 1802
The record of the following species are wrong or dubious, and have not been included in the number of carabid taxa counted in this list: Cephalota (Taenidia) eiselti eiselti (Mandl, 1967) and Cephalota (Taenidia) eiselti cankiriana Korell & Kleinfeld, 1985 occurring in the north of central Turkey as endemics of the Anatolian plateau ( Cassola, 1999; Putchkov & Matalin, 2003); Homodela ismenia (Gory, 1833) including its subspecies, according to Cassola (1999), Cassola & Pearson (2000) and Franzen (2003) are strongly restricted to Turkey and Syria (Partim); Cephalota (Taenidia) circumdata hattusae Franzen, 1996 and Cephalota (Taenidia) circumdata cappadocica Franzen, 1996 are distributed in central Anatolia (Franzen, 1996, Cassola, 1999); Cicindela (Cicindela) monticola monticola Ménétriés, 1832 occurs as presently known in the Caucasus area as well in northeastern part of Turkey ( Cassola, 1999, Matalin (1999); Cylindera (Eugrapha) trisignata (Dejean, 1822) reaches its known easternmost range in Turkey and Calomera concolor (Dejean, 1822) occurring in Cyprus, Greece, Syria and Turkey according to Cassola (1999), Franzen (1999) and Putchkov & Matalin (2003). The polymorphic group of Cicindela - campestris needs a deep revision. All of these species except C. circumdata cappadocica Franzen, 1996 have been reported from Khorasan and Esfahan Provinces by Ghahari and Kesdek (2012a, b).
Note: We are currently not able to confirm or doubt the opinions to the subspecies account of Deuve’s papers (2011-2012) before a more thorough revision of this group.
