Hosts. Saito & Komai (2008) lists Demospongia sp. and the hexactinellid sponges, Hyalonema sp., Euplectella sp., and Pheronema semiglobosum , as hosts. A mated pair taken from north of Port Hedland, Australia (USNM 256954) examined in this study was found in a Euhyalonema sp.
Remarks. This species was thoroughly described by Saito & Komai (2008) and is not redescribed here. The mouthparts are illustrated here ( Figs. 5 View FIGURE 5 E–K). This species is now reported from Australia (USNM 256954) and Madagascar (MNHN) from material examined in this study. Saito & Komai (2008) also reported on additional records of this species from New Caledonia ( Norfolk Ridge, Mount Stylaster, Mount Jumeau, and South Landsdowne).
