Verodes carinatus ( Champion, 1884)
This species is endemic to Mexico in the states of Oaxaca, Puebla, and Veracruz (Foley and Ivie 2008; Baselga et al. 2011). We add the following record: “ MEXICO: Veracruz, Tlaquilpa, Vista Hermosa, 11-V-2013, 2,490 m, pine-oak forest, L. Delgado, E. Mora-A. cols.” (1 ♂, 1 ♀, IEXA). The record from Refugio in the state of Durango ( Champion 1892) needs confirmation due to its remoteness from the other states and the lack of intermediate records.
Verodes exsculptus ( Champion, 1884) This species and its synonym, Nosoderma anceps Champion , have been cited from Ciudad de México
and the states of Estado de México, Oaxaca, Puebla, and Veracruz, at elevations between 2,500 and 3,400 m, and associated with pine forest ( Champion 1884, 1892; Garc´ıa-Par´ıs et al. 2006; Foley and Ivie 2008; Baselga et al. 2011). We add the following records: “ MEXICO: Estado de México, Km 24 carr. Amecameca-Tlamacas, 1-I-2006, 3,300 m, bajo corteza, L. Delgado col.” (3 ♂♂, 1 ♀, IEXA); “ MEXICO: Oaxaca, Santiago Comaltepec, 4 km al N de la desviación a Yolox, 22-XI-2014, 2,850 m, L. Delgado, E. Mora-A. cols.” (1 ♂, 1 ♀, IEXA); “ MEXICO: Veracruz, Calcahualco, 1 km antes de Nueva Vaquer´ıa, 28-II-1992, 2,670 m, Bosque de pino-encino, dentro de troncos, R. Novelo, F. Capistrán, L. Delgado cols” (2 ♀♀ exs., IEXA); idem except: Camino al Albergue alpino, VI-1992, 3,000 m, L. Delgado col.” (5 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀, IEXA).
