Buenoa amnigenoidea Nieser View in CoL

Fig. 60–62 View FIGURES 50 – 62. 50 – 52

Buenoa amnigenoidea Nieser, 1970: 80 [Type localities: Saramacca, Coesewijneproject, 8 km W of Saramacca-brug; Suriname, road to Afobaka, at high voltage mast; Antonio 99 (?); Record: Brazil; Types in Manaus (INPA?) and Nieser N. Collection]; Moreira et al. (2011): 53 [Check-list of Brazil].

Comments. This species is very similar to B. amnigenus . Both have the synthlipsis conspicuously narrow, about one-tenth of the vertex width, and the rostral prong originating laterally on the proximal region of the third rostral segment with its apex rounded ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 50 – 62. 50 – 52 , 66 View FIGURES 63 – 71. 63 – 65 ).

These species can be differentiated primarily by the yellow color, stained with light brown, along the body of B. amnigenoidea . The labrum of this species has tufts of setae on its ventral surface; B. amnigenus has tufts of setae on the sides of the labrum. The fore trochanter of B. amnigenoidea has a projection on its inner surface ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 50 – 62. 50 – 52 ); the fore femur is stronger and with a posterior margin more sinuous than in B. amnigenus , besides the distinct chaetotaxia. Stridulatory teeth of the fore tibia in B. amnigenus are of similar size ( Fig. 67 View FIGURES 63 – 71. 63 – 65 ), whereas in B. amnigenoidea apical teeth are larger than basal one ( Fig. 61 View FIGURES 50 – 62. 50 – 52 ).
