Synonymy: Hyalonema (Leptonema) Lendenfeld, 1915

Diagnosis. Hyalonema with whip-like pinular ray of dermal spicules bearing short or moderate spines and finely pointed outer end; macramphidiscs have umbels longer than broad or as long as broad ( Tabachnick & Menshenina 2002).
