Diagnosis. This species is diagnostic by the forewing convex at middle of termen, the ante- and postmedial lines sinuous, the distal process of the gnathos about 2/5 length of uncus, and the truncate apex of the valva in the male genitalia. Orybina kobesi is more similar to O. flaviplaga superficially, but it can be distinguished from O. flaviplaga by the postmedial line arched outward and a fuscous patch placed at outer side of yellow spot below costa; in the male genitalia by the conical uncus and the truncate apex of the valva; in the female genitalia by the ductus bursae about 4 times as long as the corpus bursae. In O. flaviplaga , the postmedial line is not arched outward and lacks the fuscous patch at outer side of yellow spot ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ); in the male genitalia ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 16 – 19 ), the uncus is bell-shaped and the apex of valva is subovate and in fan patterned; in the female genitalia ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ), the ductus bursae is about half the length of the corpus bursae. In addition, O. kobesi is also similar to O. puerensis sp. nov. and the differences between them are stated under O. puerensis sp. nov. Moreover, this species is similar to O. bellatulla sp. nov. in the male genitalia, and the differences between them are stated under O. bellatulla sp. nov.

Redescription. Adult ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ): Wingspan 30.5–35.0 mm. Frons covered with grayish-brown scales. Vertex covered with beige scales. Labial palpus of male with first segment rosy red dorsally, white ventrally, second segment grayish-brown, covered with rosy red scales ventrally, upturned, slightly longer than first, third segment grayish-brown, covered with rosy red scales ventrally, downturned, about 1.5 times as long as second; labial palpus of female same color as male, with second segment porrect, about 1.5 times as long as first, third segment slightly downturned, pointed at apex. Maxillary palpus reddish-brown. Antenna fuscous, with short cilia ventrally. Patagium and tegula pale brownish-yellow. Forewing with anterior 2/3 from costa brownish-gray, posterior 1/3 from dorsum saffron; costa with basal 1/3 pinkish-brown, median part pale gray; antemedial line brownish-gray, sinuous, from basal 1/6 of costa obliquely outward to basal 2/5 of dorsum; postmedial line fuscous, sinuous, from distal 1/5 of costa obliquely inward to 1/2 of dorsum, distinctly convex outwardly between M1 and CuA2; oblong yellow spot placed on inner side of postmedial line anteriorly, bounded by slim and reddish-brown line, a fuscous patch placed at outer side of postmedial line from R5 to M3; termen concave below apex, convex medially; cilia fuscous mixed with brown scales. Hindwing pale grayish-yellow on both basal area and posterior 1/3 of distal area, other part pale saffron or saffron; postmedial line fuscous mixed with reddish-brown, invisible at costa and tornus; vein M1 to CuA2 covered with grayish-brown scales distally; cilia pale gray at apex and tornus, fuscous mixed with brown scales at middle. Fore- and midlegs with femora and tibiae purplish-red, tarsi grayish-white; hindleg with femur purplish-red, tibia pale pink mixed with pale brown, purplish-red at tip, tarsus grayish-white.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 12 – 15 ). Uncus triangular, pointed at apex, lateral sides slightly convex before middle. Gnathos lateral arms broad at base, gradually narrowed to joint; distal process cone-shaped, about half length of uncus. Valva sub-rectangular, setose below base of costa, truncate at apex, setose sparsely; clasper flat, triangular, at distal 1/3 near ventral margin of valva; sacculus setose near base, gradually narrowed from base towards apex. Vinculum triangularly produced anteromedially. Juxta sub-oval, concave in U shape on posterior margin. Phallus cylindrical, same length as valva, curved medially.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 20 – 26 ). Papillae anales ovate. Apophyses anteriores about 2 times as long as apophyses posteriores. Antrum triangular, weakly sclerotized. Bursal ring about 1/6 length of apophyses anteriores. Ductus bursae membranous, moderate in width, anterior 2/3 coiled. Corpus bursae rounded, about 1/4 length of ductus bursae, with a spinulose patch at middle.
