Type material. Holotype male from 17 mi NW Globe, Gila County, Arizona, USA, 33.56842°, -110.99474°, Sept. 11, 1962, V. Roth, deposited in AMNH PBI_OON 37873 . Paratypes: Suwanne , New Mexico, USA, Sept. 6, 1933, W. Ivie, 4♂, 4♀ ( AMNH PBI _ OON 01168) .

Etymology. The specific name is an adjective referring to the once very abundant bandits found along the Mexican-USA border. It is to be treated as a noun in apposition.

Diagnosis. The species is close to C. angela comb. nov. in general appearance. Males can be recognized by the characteristic tip of the distal area of the conductor, bearing an abruptly narrowing tip ( Figs 43H , 44D ). Females can be recognized by the shape of the internal genitalia with triangular lateral apodemes, domed anterior portion and oval receptaculum ( Fig. 45H ).

Description. Male ( PBI _OON 01168). Total length: 1.84. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace orange-brown, broadly oval in dorsal view, pars cephalica slightly elevated in lateral view, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica granulate, sides granulate; lateral margin without denticles. Clypeus straight in front view, high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more, more than twice ALE diameter. Eyes all subequal; ALE separated by more than their diameter, PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum orange-brown, fused to carapace, furrow with rows of small pits, surface finely punctuate, microsculpture medially and in furrows, anterior margin with continuous transverse groove, posterior margin not extending posteriorly of coxae IV; setae originating from surface. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium orange-brown. Chelicerae anterior face unmodified; retromargin without teeth; fangs without tooth-like projections; paturon inner margin with brush, laminate groove absent. Labium anterior margin indented at middle. Endites anteromedian part forming a groove between serrula and the apical portion. ABDOMEN: rounded posteriorly; dorsum soft portions pale white. Book lung covers slightly angular in ventral view. Pedicel scuto-pedicel region with straight scutal ridge, plumose setae dorsal and lateral of pedicel. Dorsal scutum orange-brown, middle surface granulate, sides granulate. Epigastric scutum anterior spiracles secondary openings at level of epigastric furrow in an indent. Postepigastric scutum orange-brown, almost semicircular, fused to epigastric scutum, without posteriorly directed lateral apodemes, with clear seam at furrow. Spinneret scutum large. LEGS: orange-brown. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore circular, situated in front of anterior spiracles, rebordered. Palp proximal segments orange-brown. Conductor abruptly narrowing towards end forming a rounded distal ventral portion, distal tip narrow slightly curved downwards and distally abruptly narrowing; embolar tip with short translucent embolar distal process; embolar prolateral process distally curved in dorsal direction, with conspicuous translucent dorsal area ( Figs 43H , 44A ̅D).

Female ( PBI _OON 01168). As in male except as noted. Total length: 1.89. CEPHALOTHORAX: Mouthparts: paturon inner margin with short inter-digitating setae. GENITALIA: internal genitalia with semi-circular chitinized wall area ( Fig. 45H ).
