Type material. Male holotype and paratype female from Parque Estadual do Rio Doce, -19.80000°, -42.63333°, Marliéria, Minas Gerais, Brazil, Nov. 1, 2003 to Nov. 10, 2003, Equipe Biota, deposited in IBSP 67665 PBI_ OON 25972 . Paratypes: Marliéria , Parque Estadual do Rio Doce , Minas Gerais, Brazil, -19.80000°, -42.63333°, Nov.1 ̅10, 2003, Equipe Biota, 2♂ ( IBSP 67684 PBI _ OON 25690 ); 1♀ ( IBSP 67676 PBI _ OON 25975 ).

Etymology. The specific name means similar, due to the similarity with C. pinheiral .

Diagnosis. The species resembles C. pinheiral sp. nov. by the shape of the female internal genitalia, but with larger distance between the receptaculum and the posterior border of the internal genitalia ( Fig. 102H View FIGURES 102 ). Males can be recognized by the broad rectangular translucent dorsal area of embolar prolateral process ( Fig. 100H View FIGURES 100 ).

Description. Male ( PBI _OON 25972). Total length: 1.63. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace orange-brown, broadly oval in dorsal view, pars cephalica strongly elevated in lateral view, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica granulate, sides granulate; lateral margin without denticles. Clypeus straight in front view, high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more, less than ALE diameter. Eyes relatively large, all subequal; ALE separated by more than their diameter, PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum orange-brown, fused to carapace, furrow wrinkled, surface finely punctuate, microsculpture everywhere but middle, anterior margin with continuous transverse groove, posterior margin not extending posteriorly of coxae IV, slightly punctate in front; setae originating from surface. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium orange-brown. Chelicerae anterior face unmodified; retromargin without teeth; fangs without tooth-like projections; paturon inner margin with short inter-digitating setae, laminate groove absent. Labium anterior margin indented at middle. Endites anteromedian part forming a groove between serrula and the apical portion. ABDOMEN: rounded posteriorly; dorsum soft portions pale white. Pedicel scuto-pedicel region with paired curved scutal ridges, plumose setae absent, ridge double, dorsal one larger. Dorsal scutum orange-brown, middle surface punctate, sides punctate. Epigastric scutum anterior spiracles secondary openings at level of epigastric furrow under a fold, inconspicuous. Postepigastric scutum orange-brown, long, semicircular, without posteriorly directed lateral apodemes. Spinneret scutum large. LEGS: orange-brown. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore oval, situated at level of anterior spiracles, unmodified. Palp proximal segments orange-brown. Conductor flattened laterally, stout, with dorso-distal pointed tip; embolar tip a translucent tube; embolar distal process a short translucent lamella; embolar prolateral process with broad rectangular translucent dorsal area ( Figs 100H View FIGURES 100 , 101A View FIGURES 101 ̅D).

Female ( PBI _OON 25972). As in male except as noted. Total length: 1.75. GENITALIA: internal genitalia general shape domed, lateral processes short basally narrowing towards end, anterior area rounded, receptaculum rounded ( Fig. 102H View FIGURES 102 ).
