Type material. Male holotype and female paratype from La Rinconada, near Maipú, -33.50000°, -70.91666°, Quebrada de La Plata, Region Metropolitana de Santiago, Chile , Aug. 10, 1966, E.I. Schlinger, deposited in UCB PBI_ OON 26032 . Paratype: 1 ♂, same data as holotype, deposited in UCB PBI_ OON 26055 .
Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality. It is to be treated as a noun in apposition.
Diagnosis. The species resembles C. concepcion sp. nov. and C. campana sp. nov.; but it is distinguished from the former by the lower clypeus (less than ALE diameter) and by the densely granulate pars cephalica ( Figs 94C View FIGURES 94 ̅E, 96C̅E);.can be distinguished from the latter by the proportionally shorter abdomen relative to carapace length, males can be also distinguished from the latter by the small dorsal projection on the translucid portion of the embolar prolateral process ( Fig. 95B View FIGURES 95 ), females can be also distinguished by the shape of internal genitalia with narrower and slightly curved lateral apodemes ( Fig. 96H View FIGURES 96 ).
Description. Male ( AMNH PBI _OON 26032). Total length 1.31. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace dark redbrown, broadly oval in dorsal view, pars cephalica slightly elevated in lateral view, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica granulate, sides granulate; lateral margin without denticles. Clypeus straight in front view, high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more, less than ALE diameter. Eyes relatively large, all subequal; ALE separated by more than their diameter, PLE-PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum orange-brown, fused to carapace, furrow with rows of small pits, surface finely punctuate, microsculpture everywhere but middle, anterior margin with continuous transverse groove, posterior margin not extending posteriorly of coxae IV; setae originating from surface. Mouthparts: Chelicerae, endites and labium dark red-brown. Chelicerae anterior face unmodified; retromargin without teeth; fangs without tooth-like projections; paturon inner margin with short interdigitating setae, laminate groove absent. Labium anterior margin indented at middle. Endites: anteromedian part forming a groove between serrula and the apical portion. ABDOMEN: rounded posteriorly; dorsum soft portions pale white. Pedicel scuto-pedicel region with paired curved scutal ridges, plumose setae absent. Dorsal scutum dark red-brown, middle surface punctate, sides punctate, tegument slightly rugose between punctations. Epigastric scutum: anterior spiracles secondary openings at level of epigastric furrow under a fold, inconspicuous. Postepigastric scutum dark red-brown, long, semicircular, without posteriorly directed lateral apodemes. Spinneret scutum large. LEGS: orange-brown. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore oval, situated at level of anterior spiracles, rebordered. Palp proximal segments orange-brown. Conductor with flat and stout distal tip bearing dorsal denticles; embolus with a dorso-basal hump ( Figs 95E View FIGURES 95 ̅F); embolar tip is a short translucent tube; embolar distal process la- mellar translucent structure; embolar prolateral flange with broader translucent dorsal area and mesal tip at dorsal border ( Figs 95A View FIGURES 95 ̅F).
Female ( PBI _OON 26032). Total length 1.46. As in male except as noted. GENITALIA: internal genitalia “V” shaped, rounded receptaculum ( Fig. 96H View FIGURES 96 ).
Other material examined. None.
Distribution. This species is only know from the type locality in Chile.
