Neogerris visendus ( Drake & Harris, 1934) View in CoL
Geographical distribution: Colombia, Suriname, Brazil, and Peru.
Distribution in Brazil: North Region (RR, PA, AM) ( Drake & Harris 1934, 1935a; Kuitert 1942; Nieser 1970c; Pereira & Melo 2007).
Tachygerrini (1 genus, 4 species)
Tachygerris Drake, 1957 (4 species)
Comments: Champion (1898) affirmed seeing two female specimens from PE that appeared to belong to T. quadrilineatus ( Champion, 1898) . This is the only record of the species from Brazil, and here is considered erroneous, probably corresponding to some of the other species reported for the country. Drake and Harris (1934) recorded the species from Paraguay, which is also a very suspicious record, and not considered valid here. Drake and Harris (1934) probably mistakenly mentioned Paraguay instead of Panama, a country where the occurrence of the species is expected, considering its known distribution from Mexico to Costa Rica.
