Brachymetra accola Drake 1957 View in CoL
Comments: This species was described based on a single male specimen labeled “ Brasil.” Drake (1957b) described the species in December and mentioned that it was very similar to B. kleopatra Shaw, 1933 , from which it differed in having an extremely long pronotum (3.50 mm) with apex “obtusely roundly subangulate.” Brachymetra accola is probably a synonym of B. shawi Hungerford & Matsuda, 1957 , described in January and also similar to B. kleopatra at first sight. In specimens of B. shawi available for examination, the pronotum is about 3.50 mm and obtusely rounded, as described for B. accola . The paramere of B. accola was not drawn by Drake (1957b), but his description fits the general shape described and drawn for B. shawi . The holotype of B. accola must be examined to confirm this hypothetic synonymy.
