Limnobatodes paradoxus Hussey, 1925 View in CoL
Geographical distribution: Honduras, French Guiana, Brazil and Peru.
Comments: This is the only species included in the genus so far, and was described based on material from Honduras ( Hussey 1925). Later, Andersen (1977) included Brazil and Peru in the distributional list of the species, but mistakenly reported British Honduras instead of Honduras. In Polhemus and Polhemus (1995), another country is added to the species geographical distribution: French Guiana. The mistaken record from British Honduras provided by Andersen (1977) was repeated by Schuh and Slater (1995), and no details are given in any of these works about the distribution of the species or the origin of the material from French Guiana, Brazil, and Peru. Considering the general distribution of the species, it is possible that the records from Brazil are derived from material collected on the North Region, probably on PA or AM.
Mesoveliidae (4 genera, 7 species)
Madeoveliinae (1 genus, 1 species)
Mesoveloidea Hungerford (1929) (1 species)
