Stridulivelia (Stridulivelia) transversa (Hungerford, 1929) View in CoL
Geographical distribution: Suriname, French Guiana, and Brazil.
Distribution in Brazil: North Region (PA, AM) (Polhemus & Spangler 1995; Pereira & Melo 2007).
Rhagoveliinae (1 genus, 40 species)
Rhagovelia Mayr, 1865 (40 species)
Comments: Rhagovelia collaris (Burmeister, 1835) was recorded from CE by Dias da Rocha (1908), but was certainly misidentified. The mistaken information was repeated by Costa Lima (1940); but the species is known only from Cuba and Hispaniola islands, and the Brazilian record is herein considered erroneous.
